Rapid Progression Series
This series is for beginner paddlers wanting to participate in courses designed to take the paddler from beginner to proficient class 3 paddling in a summer season. The goal is demanding and takes commitment fromt the students but is very achievable. The series is also for padders at different levels allowing them to enter into the phases that better fit their skill level. The course is given by ACA instructors and advanced/expert kayakers.
Intro to Creeking
We will learn about the basics of creeking up to and including the Boof Stroke. How to read water with drops and discuss vertical boating. It will be a one day all day clinic on the Upper Green River. We will be breaking down the 2 big creek rapids Bayless Boof and Pin Ball and running the different creek lines. Be prepared to hike and huck the drops. You should have solid class III skills with a descent combat roll. Successful participants in this clinic will get a guided trip down Big Laurel Creek if and when she rises to the occasion.
Gain the skills and confidence needed in swiftwater rescue situations. This intensive two day course focuses on recognition and avoidance of common river hazards, execution of self rescue techniques and simple rescue methods used in team dynamics.
