New Years Day Paddle

  • Bent Creek River Park 1610 Brevard Road Asheville, NC, 28806 United States (map)

Start the new year by joining us on a casual float down the beautiful “Biltmore” section of the French Broad! This is a very chill section of river with a few class I rapids. It’s perfectly suited to beginners and recreational boaters, all the up through to the most seasoned whitewater enthusiasts. It is a great opportunity to meet new FPC members and catch up with old friends after a busy holiday season. Best of all, everyone is invited, so bring your friends and family out for wonderful day on the water.

We will start our journey at Bent Creek River Park in Asheville at 10am and float approximately 6 miles to Hominy Creek in one large group. Along the way, there will be many vistas to see, including the Biltmore Estate! Afterwards, a few us will go out for the traditional post-paddle meal.

You will need to bring boats gear for you and your guest. This is January, so plan for cold weather and cold water. Drytops/suits are recommended.

Please don’t forget to RSVP so the trip leaders know how many to expect and can plan appropriately.

Join the conversation about the day’s festivities in the #new-years-paddle channel of the club Discord Server. This is great way to ask questions and do some pre-planning with fellow members, including finding extra gear for you or your guests.

If you have any questions at all feel free to contact us or post in the Discord server.
