This summer, our club social will be held in Western, NC. We will meet Saturday, June 14th in the morning, at 10:30am. This is our Annual summertime get-together for paddling and friendship. Paddle during the day, eat together in the evening.
Planned Paddling Trips
There will be two groups:
One group will meet at the Nantahala Outdoor Center main parking lot to paddle the Nantahala.

The other group with meet at the Barker's Creek take-out for the Tuckaseegee at 11:30 am to paddle the Tuck. The Tuck group will shuttle to Dillsboro for the put in. The leader for the Tuck group is Felicia Friesen, who may be reached at feliciahfriesen@gmail.com.

Cookout
From 5:30-7:30, food and non-alcoholic beverages will be served at the Deep Creek picnic area (Deep Creek Picnic Area Rd, Bryson City, NC 28713. Map), adjacent to Deep Creek Campground, just outside of Bryson, City, NC. This picnic venue is about 25 minutes from both the Nantahala and the Tuckaseegee. Parking is $5.00 per car, and the parking ticket machine accepts only cards. There are tables, bathrooms and grills, but no available picnic shelter. Who: Foothills Paddling Club members and their guests.
Fare will be hamburgers and hot dogs, beans, chips, and potato salad. If you roll while paddling, you may also have a cookie; if you swim, you can have two. Drinks will include tea, lemon-aid, and water. Bring a dish or drink to share, if ya like. Alcohol is prohibited at this recreational site. Paddling during the day, socializing and eating from 5:30 to 7:30.
